A simple but stunning gold plated necklace, featuring part of a repurposed broken violin.
A great gift for a musician, this handmade pendant features a small piece of wood upcycled from a violin that had been badly damaged.
The piece has been carefully shaped and sanded down around the edges, and a hole pierced through the top with a gold plated pinch bail set through this. The violin wood is spruce and has a laminated top, which gives the lovely darker sheen on the top, compared to the lighter wood in the back. Spruce wood is commonly used for the body of violins as it is light and good for producing the violin vibrations (and therefore sound), and the body part is where this piece was taken from. As a result, this pendant is lovely and light, but still unique and beautiful.
Set on an 18 inch gold plated link chain.
