Lavender Flower| Plaster Of Paris Relief Cast on Board with 3 Shaker Wooden Pegs
Recently I have had the opportunity to explore my love of printmaking again and I have spent many months working on ways of capturing the incredible beauty and intricate detail, patterns and textures in the wild flowers and plants growing in my garden and surrounding hedgerows and then transferring these images on to paper to create art prints.
Developing from my prints I imagined my images in 3D so I started playing about with clay, pressing leaves, petals, and stems in to it to see what marks I could make. Like my printmaking this technique captures every intricate detail. Using the clay as a mould I then pour plaster onto it and when peeled back it reveals a 3D replica of the plants. I was hooked!
I have created a collection of floral castings, some purely as decorative pieces to hang on your wall and decorate your home and others as functional hanging boards, incorporating birch shaker pegs. Perfect for hanging your tea towels, kitchen utensils, dog lead, keys, mug…..even your face masks. Functional art !

Each cast is made individually and hand finished so size and colour may differ slightly from the photograph .
Plaster is naturally porous so its not suitable for hanging in an area with high condensation and it is only suitable for indoor use.
