This is a recycled bottle cap which has been repurposed into a miniature habitat (a Habit-cap!). This design features a pair of Orcas which have been handmade from polymer clay and set in liquid polymer clay.
The bottle cap is silver with the Whitstable Bay Pale Ale sail ship motif, and measures approx. 3 cm wide. The keyring features a metal alloy D-snap hook for easy attachment. The total length of the keyring is approx. 7.5 cm.
Orcas (Orcinus orca), also known as Killer Whales, are the largest member of the dolphin family and can reach lengths of up to 9 m. Although little is known about this species, and species ecology varied between population, Orcas have been documented migrating thousands of kilometres in their family pods. A pod of Orca known as the West Coast Community are often sighted around wester Ireland and northwestern Scotland. This species was previously a popular aquarium attraction however the world is beginning to appreciate that they live longer happier lives in the wild.
