A beautiful textile and appliqued picture of the sea and
sky, richly textured with layers of beautiful fabrics. This piece is made from
a combination of applique,  and
freemotion machine embroidery. It includes a background that has been built up
using cottons, linens, and scrims, and perfectly reflects moving waves and
either a cloudy or a starry sky.The text is printed to calico before being
attached to the picture  and simply says “Good
friends are like stars….. you don’t always see them, but you know they are
always there”

The finished piece measures 30cm x 30cm, with the inner
mount in antique white and measuring 15cm x 15cm. It comes ready framed with a
white driftwood wooden frame, ready to hang on a wall. As this piece is created
by freemotion embroidery and applique, the odd frayed edge is deliberate and
adds to the quirkiness.
