Zero waste travel cutlery roll is great way to carry your own cutlery when you are out and about. This reduces the need to use single-use cutlery when travelling. The cutlery roll can hold up to 4 sets of knives, spoons & forks and also reusable metal straws. When the cutlery is all taken out, the mat can double up as a place mat or napkin for your lap. Each and every time you use this set you are keeping plastic, single use utensils out of the landfill.
The cutlery roll has 3 pouches and a top flap to cover over the pouch. This flap will make sure that the cutlery doesn’t fall out in the bag when it’s rolled up.
This cutlery roll is made from 100% cotton canvas fabric with an unbleached cotton pouch, flap and ties. All the fabrics used are dead stock fabric that have been rescued from landfill. Because of the nature of the dead stock fabric, all the patterns and prints change regularly.
The roll can be purchased with reusable metal straws. You have a choice of either 2 straight straws or 2 bent straws with a cleaning brush.
There’s always a choice between bamboo and metal straws and I have chosen to go with metal straws because it lasts longer. This reduces waste and repeat consumption in the longer run. There are also questions about how sustainable bamboo farming is and if they are farmed in an environmentally friendly way. On top of this, the chemical that bamboo food products are coated with is still being tested for long term impact by some countries. So, my vote was for metal straws.
