Hi there and welcome to Local Art & Craft UK

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

OK guys

Pens, brushes, scissors, needles and welding torches down!

It’s time for the first ever blog post from Local Art & Craft UK.

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Local Art & Craft UK was the brainchild of a small group of friends who wanted to create a marketplace for local artists and crafters to be able to sell their products while we’re all in lockdown.

With craft fairs and markets closed down we’re all feeling a little bit lost. LA&C gives us an outlet to be able to sell our artwork, gifts and other products safely and for free with no set up costs or selling fees.

Once that was all decided we thought “Well why not open it up to the whole of the UK?”

“We could be a ‘local’ marketplace for the art and craft scene through the country!”

So here we are. What started out as an idea for artists and artisans in our little village in Northamptonshire has quickly grown to include artists from all over the UK, from Brighton to the Isle of Skye.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]Hopefully by now you’ve found our website at localartandcraft.uk

but did you know we also have the LA&C community on Facebook?

On the go!

We’ve even got a free Android app available from Google Play Store at https://www.facebook.com/groups/localartandcraft

Plus, there’s an IOS app in development so keep your eyes peeled iPhone users![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”3891″ img_size=”medium” alignment=”right”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/4″][vc_single_image image=”3916″ img_size=”medium”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”3/4″][vc_column_text]

Time to open your shop.

Once you’ve registered and set up as a seller you can start to upload your products.

A SIMPLE PRODUCT is a single item you want to sell. That’s the easy bit. There are no selling fees for you or the buyer but you will need an eBay business account or something similar.

If you already have an Etsy shop, for example, you can advertise them on LA&C at no charge from us. Just click on the arrow and change from SIMPLE PRODUCT to EXTERNAL/AFFILIATE PRODUCT. Then just pop the URL for your Etsy product in the text box and put View Product in the BUTTON TEXT box.

The community ethos is that selling your art is now and always will be totally free on LA&C. Coming soon though, we’ll be offering a range of paid for services like managed accounts, featured artists/products etc. We can even import all your Etsy products to your LA&C store for you if you want.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Over the coming weeks we’ll be asking for your input and ideas.

I’ll be blogging and writing features to tickle your artistic tastebuds. Maybe you have an interesting arty or crafty lockdown story you’d like to share with the community. Maybe a stand out piece or a particular project you’re proud of.

You can get in touch either through the Facebook group or you can email me direct at tom@localartandcraft.com[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

So, we hope you’ll love our new community and make it your own.

We really value all the feedback we’ve received already but we need so much more. Hopefully the kinks will be ironed out over the next couple of days and everything will run smoothly from here on in but we can’t do it without your help.

Equally, we need your help to spread the word. This could be a fantastic resource for new and existing artists and artisans up and down the length and breadth of the UK.

It is what you make it.

Let’s make it GREAT![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row]
