1. Creating or Upgrading your PayPal Account

To use our in-built shopping cart system to receive payments directly to your Business PayPal account there are a couple of tasks you must perform from within your PayPal account dashboard.

First of all, you will need to have a Business PayPal account (this system is not compatible with personal PayPal accounts). Business PayPal accounts are completely free and you can either create a New Business Account or upgrade an Existing Personal Account. Please click on one of the available options below to start.

2. How to get your API Credentials from the PayPal Dashboad

Assuming you have now successfully created / configured your PayPal Business Account, it is now time to login and retrieve those all important API credentials.

What are API credentials?

The PayPal API Credentials consist of three parts (API Username, API Password and Signature) and are used to enable a secure and encrypted connection to your Business PayPal Account for the protection of both yourself and your customer.

The following step by step guide with helpful screenshots (from the PayPal Dashboard) should help you to retrieve your API credentials.

Select ‘Account Settings’

Login to your Business PayPal account and locate the ‘Account Settings’ link in the Drop Down Menu located at the Top Right of your Dashboard Click ‘Update’ for API Access (Clicking this link will take you to the API Page).

Click ‘Manage API Credentials’

Scroll down the page until you see the following link to “Manage API Credentials”. This will take you to the final screen where you will find the information needed to complete your Storefront PayPal Direct setup.

And Finally…

Reveal Your API Credentials

From this screen you can now click to show the API information.

You will need to make a note of the API Username, API Password and Signature.

You can now return to your Storefront Setup Page and enter the API Credentials to complete your PayPal Direct account setup.
